Why Add a Background to PNG?
PNG files with transparency look great on websites, but cause problems in other contexts. Amazon, Etsy, and eBay require product images with a white background. Word, PowerPoint, and PDF documents don't support transparency and show a white or black box instead. Many print providers require solid backgrounds.
This tool uses ImageMagick's -flatten command to cleanly merge the transparency with your chosen background color. The result is a fully opaque PNG ready for any use.
